Growth of Pentacene-Doped p-Terphenyl Crystals Using SSVBT and Doping Effects in p-Terphenyl Molecular Crystals

High-quality pentacene-doped p-terphenyl bulk crystals were grown by the selective self-seeding vertical Bridgman technique (SSVBT). The lattice structure and crystal properties of samples different doping concentrations their relations with single tested analyzed. effects pentacene at in molecular are discussed. powder X-ray diffraction, FTIR, 1H NMR studies show that no additional peaks (except for p-terphenyl) observed spectra two doped crystals. results indicate guest molecules appear as defects form irregularly oriented which do not significantly change structures. As concentration increases, average crystallite size decreases, crystallinity declines. ultraviolet–visible absorption fluorescence added molecules, characteristic peak intensities decrease owing to transition. Meanwhile, due Moreover, increase concentration, host continuously, those accordingly.
